It is generally accepted that the Georgian peridod is taken from when the three King Georges' ruled Great Britain from 1714 to 1800. The English style of this period was to produce plain, striking and practical pieces of furniture including desks with particular attention to detail being paramount. The expansion of the British Empire resulted in the availability of better woods - and today there are many mahogany and oak made Georgian desks of exceptional quality.
